Jodhpur is the blend of multiple facets which India is majorly known for. It represents the legacy of fighters of Mewar region. However, it has a fantastic blend of art, cuisine, culture as well as folk tradition which has made it one of the most important tourist attractions in the country.
Jodhpur was founded in the year 1459 by the Rathore clan. An Afghan ruler Mohammad Ghori, invaded the city and drove away the founders away from the place. Jodhpur faced many battles with other princely states in Rajasthan like Jaipur and Udaipur towards the 18th Century. Ahmedabad was captured by Maharaja Abhai Singh, who was the successor to Maharaja Ajit Singh. In the year 1818, a treaty was signed with the British. The treaty ensured that Jodhpur develops with peace and becomes prosperous.
